Kemari Copeland is a defensive lineman for Virginia Tech, where the Virginia Beach native has become the anchor of the Hokies' interior front. A Beach District Defensive Player of the Year at Floyd Kellam High School, Copeland took the long road to Blacksburg — beginning his career at Army West Point, then winning an NJCAA Division I national championship at Iowa Western Community College, where he posted 38 tackles and 4.5 sacks. Back home in Virginia, he broke out in 2025: starting all 12 games at defensive tackle with 48 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, a team-leading 4.5 sacks and an interception on his way to Third Team All-ACC honors. His three-sack game against Cal — the first by a Hokies defensive tackle since 1995 — earned ACC Defensive Lineman of the Week. Copeland chose to return for his senior season in 2026, representing Virginia Tech at ACC Kickoff.
